DJ is a native of Raleigh, NC and completed his undergraduate degree at UNC Greensboro. He completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC.
DJ has a special interest and advanced training areas such as dry needling, blood flow restriction training, manual therapy, spinal manipulation, cupping, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, and associated modalities that provide his patients with pain relief.
In his free time, DJ competes in powerlifting where you are given 3 attempts to achieve a one rep max in three separate lifts; the squat, the bench press and the deadlift. In addition to his own training, he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. His experience in competing in strength sports as well as training strength athletes has carried over into his treatment style with his patients. He believes that empowering patients to learn how to properly strengthen their bodies is key to their physical longevity.
Outside of work and fitness related activities, DJ enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy and their two dogs, Mila and Gus. Hobbies include live music, fire pits, craft beer, and watching the Carolina Panthers.
